The Grand Prairie, TX office, focuses on Engineering and Project Management in oil & gas industry. We do detail engineering for Midstream companies on Pipelines, Pumps, Compressor & Meter Stations, Tank Farms, Gas Plants, and Dehydration Units.
Position- Sr. Piping Designer
  • Create 2D & 3D models of Piping and Equipment using CADworx Plant 2014.
  • Ability to layout vessels, pumps, compressors & related piping, pig traps, metering & regulating, pipe supports
  • Draws piping plans from a layout
  • Can create a P&ID or PFD from rough draft.
  • Extracting Isos from a 3d Model using CADWorx Isogen program.
  • Analyzing the effect of proposed changes for proper fit and/ or interference problems; recommending possible solutions or alternate construction; modifying drawings as required; may confer with engineers to resolve issues.
  • As Built P&ID’s, piping plans, sections and details based on the red lines from the field.
  • Prepare Bill of Materials relative to design requirements.
  • Follow company CAD Standards and procedures.Requirements
  • Min. 10-15 years’ experience in Engineering and Construction industry, ability to read a P&ID and PFD, knowledge of pipe support requirements
  • Understands and is able to layout underground piping systems, relief and vapor recovery systems
  • Understands make-up of typical drawing package & can create a complete drawing set (plan and profile & isometric) drawings from field sketches
  • Knowledge of equipment & valve and instrumentation for such equipment
  • Understands and applies welding symbols as needed
  • Understands principles of pipe thermal expansion
  • Basic math knowledge (scale conversions, geometry, 3D geometry.)
  • Knowledge of alignment sheets (plan & profile), HDD drills, permit & plat drawings for various permits client may require
  • Understands and draws pipe (single & double line), screwed and socket weld piping, elevations and fitting dimension charts, valve types.
  • Understands and applies survey information and ability to work in both absolute and relative reference modes in a linear reference environment (i.e. stationing and co-ordinate based geometry).
  • Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision and work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to establish priorities, handle project assignments and work tasks with varying lead times and multiple steps to ensure all commitments are met.Capabilities & credentials

General Qualification:
  • Working experience in oil and gas industry
  • Familiar with the ASME, API and other industry related standards
  • Must have desire to learn, work in a team environment, and have positive attitude.Software Skills Required
  • Proficient in current release of Intergraph CADWorx plant Pro 2013 or 2014, Cadworx Equipment module and ISOGEN module. Ability to work in CADWorx P&ID software.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2013 or later release and Microsoft Suite (word, excel, etc.)
  • Experience  with creating and updating pipeline drawings and data  using AutoCAd Map 3D or AuoCAD Civil 3D is a plus not desirable.
